My interest in Reading

My interest in reading began at primary school.I oftenwondered and searched for answers why many of my classmates could not read.When I began to teach ,this was an area of great concern.I read many books on reading and questioins many of my collegues on the strategies they used intheir classroom.

Sadly, many teachers did nothing about this. Some though it was they will catch up some day and the list goes on and on. I love teaching people to read. However, what I enjoy the most is when their faces light up when they are improving or figure out a word.

Technology

Technology has touched every facet of our lives.It is a powerful toolthat can be used to mediate education ,curricula and learning.The new thrust in using web 2.0 technology to teach reading is creating dramatically new opportuities for students and teachers to embrace.Teachers embrace this concept because thy understand that it rngages students interest;increase their options to teaching and learning;and addresses students individual learning interest.

Students can read ebooks,share their stories on line on wikis,sreate books blogging and so forth.As such, the Minisitry of Education should enable that all teachers,adminisitrators and employees receive the necessayr training in this area.Thereby creating a more literate society and moving towards literacy in the 21st century.
